Two Rivers Swimming/Diving Updates!
Happy Spring, Warriors!
I hope everyone is doing well and is looking forward to finishing the school year off strong. I wanted to touch base with you about a couple of items as we look forward to next year.
FREE SUMMER CONDITIONING PROGRAM RETURNS!
First, I’m looking forward to continuing our summer conditioning program for current athletes or recently graduated athletes at our pool. Some quick details regarding the program:
- The program is free!
- It’s open to both boys and girls who have previously competed on the Two Rivers Swim and Dive team
- Pool hours will be 90 minutes from 2:30 - 4:00 on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
- Program begins on June 13th and runs until July 28th (subject to change as I solidify my summer calendar)
- Swim sets provided or feel free to bring your own
- Great option for those with busy schedules! No commitment required, come and go as you please!
- Divers are welcome!
I’m still waiting to hear back from Coach Spencer with the boys team. He’s not currently sure he will be able to run a morning session again this summer.
There will be a sign-up and waiver sent out within the next month for anyone interested!
Captains for the 2022-2023 Season!
I’ve been receiving a number of emails from athletes wondering about captains next year and expressing their desire to know for planning purposes…and I agree!
If you are interested in being a captain next year…email me a blurb stating your interest, why you think you would make a good captain, and explain what being a leader means to you. Please respond by May 2nd!
After May 2nd I will put together a list of interested captains and will email all current swimmers a voting form.
Job Opportunity for Swimmers and Divers!
Mel, in Community Education, asked that I pass along to you that they are in need of Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors this summer at the Two Rivers pool. You can make $15-$19 an hour working close to home! It wasn’t specified in her email, but I believe they will also help you get certified if you’re not currently a lifeguard.
Scan the attached flier if you’re interested in learning more!
Other Odds and Ends
If you have friends who you think would make great teammates and athletes, please encourage them to join or to reach out to me with questions.
It’s been a lot of fun catching up with some of you at your non-swimming sporting events. I’ve enjoyed watching some of you wrestle, ski, and swim. I’m hoping catch a Track meet here soon! If you’re in a sport outside of swimming, please let me know as I would love to see you compete OUTSIDE of the water!
Good luck to our Seniors as you solidify your post-high school plans. If I can help in any way, please just ask!
I can’t wait to get back into the pool, to be around the best athletes at Two Rivers, and to see what success comes your way next year!
Go Warriors!
